There are two versions of this album. There's the spoken word version, which is the original version, and this one, the Soundscapes that focus on the music and removes the spoken word.
With five tracks, Remembrance is a movement of ambient music and contempory dance with Indian sitars, tribal drums and epic sound design. Headed up by Porangui with Liquid Bloom and others in support, this is a spiritual and meditative odyssey. Throughout its five tracks, which are fairly lengthy, it wraps the listener around a lush epic soundscape.
I like the vocals and the sound design in this. It is somewhat different from the usual stuff I review on these Reviews but my love of all things trance led me to explore other sides of the trance pyramid. This is hypnotic and soothing, ethereal and smooth. And this continues throiughout the record.
1. Puja (Soundscapes Mix) (5.52)
2. Prana (Soundscapes Mix) (21.08)
3. Nataraja (Soundscapes Mix) (14.44)
4. Atman (Soundscapes Mix) (12.22)
5. Bodhisattva (Soundscapes Mix) (11.31)
As you can see, every track is expansive and is given time to grow. But that is the beauty of this album. Similar to Ocoyo by Iyakuh on Desert Trax, the sound design is epic and is worth a look if you are a meditation devotee.
