Format: Digital
Genre: Trance

Hypnotic is the name of the game here as Alter Ego drops the latest by Arlicht. This is Origins and it contains a Director's Cut mix by Arlicht, which lengthens the breakdown. But what's it like?

This is typically Alter Ego. Epic production and a sublime bass-line all add up to a bonafide anthem. The standout for me is the Director's Cut. The Original Mix is epic at 7 minutes but, at 9 minutes long, the Director's Cut is the one. Everything is increased in this version; bigger beats, bigger bass-lines and more breakdown. I kinda miss the days of 9+ minute trance tracks so this Director's Cut tickles my tastebuds. And its on one of my favourite labels too. Tasty bonus!

On the whole, Origins is a beast that deserves a play or two or three or maybe even four. And the Director's Cut deserves more. In fact, I hope to see more trance producers dropping director's cuts on their productions too. Not much to ask, is it? Wink
