K90 - Nick the Kid & AlexMo remixes

» Anniversay Series Part 1 - Deliverance & Universe

Reviewed by Steve Milton / Submitted 27-10-10 07:41

Label: Dataless Recordings
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance/hard trance

I’ve had some of my most fun clubbing moments to the soundtrack of K90. His enthusiasm combined with that energetic chunky trance style really did it for me back in the day so when I saw the Part 1 of the Anniversary Series appear in my inbox with a couple of underplayed classics given a rework I was on them like a fly on sh*t!.

We have two tracks here given a modern re-work. Deliverance with Nick the Kid on remix duties and AlexMo with his take on Universe.

Deliverance was always a cracking tune and this remix just brings it bang up to date. Good chunky beats, acid lines and big strings. The lead is given a smooth over but still maintains the energy and edge of the original. I’m loving this all over again, good stuff.

Universe was always probably and underplayed track, probably because Urban Anthems had so many good tracks that tended to overshadow it but here it has its chance to shine. It’s dusted off and polished, no radical rework here just some subtle changes to bass lines and synths. Its still got that rolling and infectious groove. This up-to-date version is just that, its sympathetic to the original while maintaining an identity of its own. Nice.
