SQ & Fallout » Karma Reviewed by ajay / Submitted 25-10-06 08:28 Label: Impact Format: 12" Vinyl Genre: Hard Dance Now and again someone sneaks onto the scene and stamps a big size 9 all over the place – seemingly out of nowhere. SQ is one such producer – following from his awesome remix of K90’s “Red Snapper”, he teams up with Fallout to come up with the monster that is “Karma”, forthcoming on Impact and featuring on the awesome “Elevate” album mixed by Kevin Energy and Phil York. From the off “Karma” has big tune written all over it – the skippy, fast percussion and huge roller of a bassline generate huge energy, boosted by a teasing intro riff that builds as the track progresses, joined by a lovely harsh 303 acid line. It’s the breakdown that really sets “Karma” apart though – a haunting, foreign chant is backed by a sweeping bass pad, reminiscent of Robert Miles’ awesome “Children”, before the lead riff rises and builds to a massive crescendo. The obligatory percussive build is right on the case before a brief drop and then into utter hard dance carnage as all the elements come together in one explosive hit. I’ve been hammering “Karma” for a couple of weeks now and it has decimated some of the country’s finer hard dance nights for me – with it’s pride of place appearance on Kevin’s Elevate mix, this is set to be one of the biggest and most familiar hard dance tunes for months to come!!
