Genre: Hard Dance
Now everyone loves a Hardbeat, so what happens when said series decides to showcase some new talent?! Is this the future of Hardbeat? Well I tell ya what, if it is, then we got some definite things to be looking forward to! Proving that even the big boys need to stand back and take some notice, we have new talents R.F.O. and Masmada treating us to a very nice little double A-Side...
-----------
Side A: R.F.O. 'Dig The Bass'
Kicking us off we have Nukleuz' own man about town, R.F.O. I'm not too sure if I'm meant to give out his real name, so I'll just drop a hint instead - he's sporting a rather fetching mohican these days, and is often to be seen with a beer in his hand and a smile on his face. And it's no wonder he's got the smile having just got this little stomper released! Thumping kicks, melodic toms, crisp hi-hats, rhythmic percussion are all but just a tasty sample of whats to come as the tracks begins flowing. Deep throbbing bassline, spliced up vocals, dirty filtered synths... by the time the break arrives you just don't know what to expect, and then to help throw you off track even more in comes an ethereal vocal and subtle soft synth. But like I said, that's not where the track is going. Arising from the break are nasty acid synths, and grinding leads that throw you back into the belly of it and spit you out at the other end..... feeling somewhat refreshed if a little dizzy! Noice!! With the likes of BK and Anne Savage already getting their mitts on this one, you'd do well to follow suit.
-----------
Side AA: Masmada 'Drop The Bass Now!'
Well it looks like bass may just be the theme, and if you like yours dirty then I think you're in for a treat. Told to us as "twisting the hard house formula till it reaches breaking point"... and I gotta say I definitely agree. This track is unforgiving.. infact it makes Arnie look like Peewee Herman!! Stomping beats, tight percussion, sparky rides, and flowing hi-hat patterns all sit together over one black beauty of a galloping bassline. Your nose may bleed, but don't worry... that's good! Hoovers put to good use give you the open space that is soon to be filled with one monster of a riff! Dirty just doesn't even come close! If you're not quite capable of grinding away you're own jaw, then whack this baby on and you'll soon be phoning Mr Dentist. Well put together with some nice little tricks that may even have the dancefloor thinking you are in fact a bit of a deck wizard. Top Stuff!
