The Birthday bells are ringing this week folks, as we celebrate 12 magnificent years of London’s friendliest Friday night party, The Gallery on Friday 11th May. Housed 52 times a year at the legendary Turnmills, The Gallery still remains one of the most influential club nights in the UK and each week welcomes the world’s biggest DJs alongside the crème of the scene’s rising stars. With 3 rooms of music to explore and experience, The Gallery offers the finest in tech-house, trance and electro, offering the freshest beats within 3 intimate spaces – including the new look main room, which has been a revelation since the DJ box was overhauled in Feb.
As a special Birthday treat, The Gallery have gone for the jugular – no expense spared! Headlining our big night and making a welcome and rare visit to London will be the king of Dutch (progressive) trance and the world’s no.2 DJ – Armin Van Buuren. Armin has long been a Gallery favourite since debuting many moons ago and the club still remains the only gaff he’ll play for in the capital. Armin’s Armada record label continues to go from strength to strength and his ‘A State of Trance’ radio show is now one of the most syndicated shows around the world. Armin will be packing up his trunks again this summer as he heads off to Ibiza for another action packed season at Amnesia, but before all this, make sure you get your tickets extra early for this very special evening with one of the globe’s greats. This will be a ROADBLOCK for sure!! Joining Armin on main room patrol will be fellow countryman Remy – another Gallery hero and purveyor of quality electronic music and Danish superstar Niklas Harding who makes his debut… plus it wouldn’t be a Birthday party without Gallery talisman Tall Paul, and so the big fella will be rocking up with his bag of tricks ready to entertain the masses!! The Gallery’s much loved resident Gavyn Mytchel has the honour of keeping the kids happy with the night’s big finale, whilst warm up rocker Chris Linnell sets the early pace.
Over in T2, backroom favourites Dirtbox bring the underground beats to the floor as they keep the Birthday party in full swing!! Resident Alex Collings oversees another killer night which sees the hotly-tipped Audio Jack take to the decks. The production duo are one of the scenes emerging talents, and their re-rub of Paul Woolford’s ‘Erotic Disclosure’ just brought this noughties anthem back to life all over again! Pete Whitehouse & guests support. The 3rd and final slice of the action takes place in T3, where Vaccine continue their monthly quest to bring you the world’s hottest new talent on the trance scene. This month they double up with Galaxy Nu Breed to bring you a fresh as they come line-up of future giants. Galaxy FM’s own Riley & Durrant headline, with Dutch trancer Marc Van Linden also making a very special guest appearance. Former Gallery DJ Comp winner and now star in her own right, Sophie Sugar joins the party, together with Barry Connell from the Goodgreef camp and Mike Harris, plus Vaccine’s very own residents of joy - The Viceroy and Ben Beaton complete this formidable selection.
Look out for special Birthday goodies for everyone and loads of surprises to ensure The Gallery’s 12th Birthday goes off with a bang!!
