DT8 Project is the brainchild of Darren Tate, the classically trained musician who rose to fame as one of Europe's leading dance producers with projects such as Angelic and Jurgen Vries (which included the top 5 smash 'The Opera Song' featuring Charlotte Church). Last summer saw Darren Tate launch 'DT8' with the absolutely massive club smash 'Destination'. As the new summer approaches, Darren has teamed up with the stunning vocals of newcomer Rob Li to create the DT8 Project and 'The Sun is Shining (Down On Me)', the first single from their new album, and a feel good track of epic proportions. This tune is set to be the soundtrack of the summer and has seen extensive support from many of the worlds leading DJs.
DT8 Project is a four piece live band that plays cross-over funky grooves, cut with Darren's signature trance and house sound. Following on from this single will be a series of releases which will include collaborations with various leading international writers and artists, culminating in an album which will be released early next year. The album in itself will be a tour de force, a journey through modern electronica and live acoustics, incorporating everything from the soaring melodies of classical through to the heart and rhythm of soul.
'The Sun is Shining (Down on Me)' is Mondo's biggest release so far and heralds not only its presence as the UK's fastest growing independent but also its arrival as a major cross-over player. With a Top 20 hit on its hands, DT8 Project has just begun with more releases coming soon.
